How to transfer a face from one photo to another in Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop professional raster graphics editor provides truly fantastic features. That's why they love him among users who are fond of creating photo collages. And indeed, it is possible to perform actions typical for such tasks, for example, to transfer a person from one photo to another in just a few minutes.

Lesson

1. Open in Adobe Photoshop two photos (the one from which and the one to which you want to transfer the face). To load an image, press Ctrl O or select File and "Open ..." in the main menu, then go to the directory with the required file, select it in the listing and click the "Open" button.

2. Create a selection area that covers the entire face in the photo from which you want to transfer it. Use the tools of the Lasso Tool and Marquee Tool groups.

3. Adjust the selection using the quick mask. Press the Q key on the keyboard or the Edit in Quick Mask Mode button on the toolbar. Activate the Brush Tool. Select the appropriate brush on the Brush drop down panel. Set the foreground color to black. Working with a brush, remove excess areas of selection. Similarly, by selecting white color, add the necessary areas to the selection. Exit the quick mask mode by pressing the Q button again or the button on the toolbar.

4. Transfer the face from one photo to another. Copy the current selection to the clipboard. To do this, press Ctrl C or select Edit and Copy from the menu. Switch to the window with the image on which you want to insert a face. Press Ctrl V or select Edit and Paste in the menu. Close the window with the source image.

5. Select the face on the target image. Turn off the visibility of the current layer in the layers panel. Switch to the bottom (background) layer. Perform actions similar to those described in the second and third steps.

6. Remove face from background image. In the menu, select the items Layer, New, "Layer From Background ...". In the New Layer dialog, click the OK button. Press the Delete button or select the Edit and Clear items in the menu.

7. Combine the face transferred to the photo with the original image. Activate and enable visibility of the upper layer. Select Layer, Arrange and Send to Back from the menu to move this layer down. Activate scaling mode by selecting the Edit, Transform and Scale menu items. Press and hold the Shift key. Move the corners of the frame in the workspace to resize the image. Move the face to the right place with the mouse. Click on the button of any tool and click OK in the window that appears to apply the changes. When performing these actions, it may make sense to temporarily increase the transparency of the upper layer by setting its Opacity parameter.

8. Fit the transferred face to the original image. If there are transparent areas, fill them with a suitable background using the Clone Stamp Tool. Remove possible defects using the Healing Brush Tool or brush painting. For a better combination of images, you can make some areas in the upper layer translucent, making adjustments using a quick mask.

9. Evaluate the results of work and save the image. Select the appropriate scale for viewing using the Zoom Tool. Make sure that the combination of images produced with high quality. If necessary, return to the processing process. Press Ctrl Shift S or Alt Ctrl Shift S and save the photo to a file.
